i rate meself as somewhere just below average.
it's a funny thing.

it's another funny thing when you least expected
it, you could learn something from a person that
you totally never expect to educate you.

when i was in africa, my drilling superintendent
indirectly showed me how to take a picture at
night without using flash.

what he demonstrated was, you could play around
with your oev settings to make your ccd more
or less sensitive towards light. you could use
that to your advantage, when shooting in
less than favourable lighting conditions.

i took his advice and came up with these permutations.
