do you remember the time when all you had to
do was be good at learning and stuff, and
all the other shit doesn't really apply to
you?

those were good times, man.

sometimes i long for the time when simple
was the way of life, and it's the only way.

a few months back, i was in the conversation
with my grandpa and an expat, and he
reminisced about the times when kedah was a
very basic state. yes. a few anecdotes were
there. he said at that time there so few
road accidents. what's there to die for?
there's almost no cars, motors and all the
other dangerous stuff you'd find now.
everybody knows everybody, so you can't
steal stuff or any of that evil shit. and
at anytime, you could swim in the (clean)
river. he said that even though he's rich
now, he wished that he could go back to the
simpler life in kedah. could you believe it.

i'm somewhat struck by the fact that it was
not the achievements that mattered, but more
towards the every-day aspects of living.

bla bla bla.

true though.
